I Love My Wii...

Hey there folks. I think I'm doing this right. If I am this will be my first post from my Wii. I'm kind of excited because I spent most of today looking for a suitable keyboard. This one was about $30 and came with a fucking mouse which I obviously don't need. Honestly? Go figure. Meat this this post? Let's see...I had an awesome picture for the yearbook and my principal made me retake it today. That really chapped my hide and I was pissed about it all day today. There! MEAT! Time to play me some Corruption. Laters!

You Buy Now

Ok. I've been waiting for this game to come out basically since the Wii was announced. It's a semi-co-op adventure game. And it's not a short one (30 hours)! It's getting truly rave reviews and here I am jumping on the bandwagon promoting this game before it too gets left by the wayside like all kinds of other experimental games. psychonauts, beyond good and evil, okami, and many others. Btw in case you we're thinking "man I loved one of those games! What's the issue?" well... None of those games sold over a million copies. And the studio that made Okami(a Fucking masterpiece btw!)? Shut down for good. Go figure.

Seriously...if you own a Wii you need to buy this game. If you own a Wii and you either have a significant other or a roommate in the house then you absolutely MUST buy this game.

"but Tommy I don't have enough monies to buy that AND Ace Combat 9 which will definately (this time for sure!) be the R0XX0rZ!". Yeah well suck it up...Capcom expected you would say that and made it a budget title at release. That's right $39. Bitch.

By now you might be wondering what kind of genre: "semi-co-op adventure game" is. Well... It's an adventure game mostly like you remember with brutal puzzles and off-the-wall humor like "day of the tenticle" from back in the day. The co-op is only semi because you can't exactly play with your buddies but your buddies can use extra Wiimotes to help points things out and draw one the screen as you play. Personally I think this is awesome. Your friends can help as you "drive" and then the next level will have you in the passenger seat and your friend driving. All the while you are drawing phallusus's on the screen to fuck with them...or help them....Whatever :).

Ok that's the end of my rant. You want quirky, well made, fun, new IP's...letting games like this slip by just discourages companies for trying so hard to give you what you want. Put your money where your mouth is. I'm out!!

Zombie Survival

Just to explain the title: Jessica got me a present. Thoughtful and out of the blue! :). I've been amping up my fear of zombies in leu of the trip to New Orleans for comedy's sake and I seem to have several people thinking that I have an irrational fear of them. This is not the case. I just think the concept of them is terrifying and I woud never want to be one...but I actually don't think that I'm ever going to turn into one or that they exist in reality. There. That's said.

On that note Jess got me The Zombie Survival Guide. That just proves that I'm easy to buy for if you pay attention and give a crap. It's interesting by the way but the history part is kinda boring and that's what I'm on now. It would be cooler if all of them were historical accounts and not 100 pages of made up stuff. But that survival parts were really interesting. I'm gonna keep this one on my book shelf just in case of zombie wars. Anyway it's my lunch now and I would REALLY like to take a nap instead of eat. Let's give it a shot! To the head!!!

Facing Your Fears

Ok so I've been a big fan of facing my fears for a long time. I have a fear and I obsess about it. Not only do I obsess about it I do what I can to really get the fear out of me. At this point my major fears are out of me or completely controlable. Let's take my S.O. Drinking fear. That's completely gone at this point. Took years of hard work with zero appreciation or support but I did it. After that I didn't have many left. Fear of needles was mostly squashed by facing it by donating over two gallons of blood in the last 15 years (had to take time off for all my traveling abroad). All in all I'm doing great on the fear front and I'm proud to be freaking awesome under pressure or in sticky locations or situations. But there is my next, slightly more irrational fear that I have to tackle: zombies.

Many of you know that I love zombie movies, but how many of you know that I watch them with the expressed intention of becoming less scared by their very idea? Or at least that's how it started. Zombie movies don't scare me anymore but zombies still do. This was a fault in my logic when approaching the problem. I wasn't (as it turns out) afraid of zombies...I was afraid of becoming one. Crap. How am I supposed to face that fear??! (besides working cremation into my will...which I've already done) Well...the answer to that question hit me full force about a week ago when Jessica asked me to come along with her and her roommate to New Orleans...for Halloween. That's right I'll be going to the only American city with genuine zombie legends and potentially real Juju zombie powder. I'm so boned. Just to make sure I face this fear head on as well just like the rest of them we'll be meeting a real voodoo priestess. Boned. I was looking for more things for us to do while we were there just now and I caught myself making the below face when I saw a picture of a bunch of very well made up zombies strolling down bourbon steert. When it literally made my heart jump I caught a glimpse of myself in a nearby mirror and took a pic. Man I think drunk buddies are going to be the least of my worries for that trip.

On a totally un-related note. Remind me to talk about my romanticism on tomorrows post. That's rhetorical, don't really remind me, I'm just putting this here to remind myself.

Dirty Girl

Shel Silverstein. Writer. Illustrator. Pornographer? You be the judge.

So anyway. I'm finding myself in a unique position: I'm the crazy one. I know that I might have mentioned that before but this is decidedly something new to me. I mean, neither of us are truly insane nor in need of any kind of help (that's also A bit of A new one for me) SO that's definately good but I'm somehow, on a scale of relativity, the crazy one. But since I'm obviously not crazy in the real sense of the word it's an odd situation to be in. The things I say and the responses I get and how frequently I put my foot in my mouth are overly apparent. In the past I've had to play the role of the stability and I, frankly, find it freeing to be the nut. It's a nice perk. It's nice to be free of judgement but you know me...or at least I like to pretend like you all do...I still worry. But it's kinda like what I talked about earlier last month: your mistakes and your quirks and whether or not you apologize for the stupid shit you do makes you who you are. This is me with my fingers crossed so I don't over do it. I think that's all I have to say on the matter really.
