Mmmmm Doubt! My Favorite Topping!

Hey everyone. Quickie today. Lots of crap going down at work, a test tomorrow, and a final paper to do for the weekend. Approximate date of firing is now set at mid May. Garland administration actually said this to the woman hiring me,

Admin:"Are you SURE you want to hire this guy?"
Assis Prin: "Yes of course I do!"
Admin: "Well...we're going to need to call to confirm that he's actually in a certification program first"
Assis Prin: "Well I'm staring at his acceptance letter on official letterhead right now."
Admin: "But still we're going to go ahead and call them. Oh and if they confirm I'm going to want to speak to him before you go any further with this. Have him meet me at 9:30am on Thursday"
(Click)

So yeah...MORE fun with being scared about my future! Yippie! Anyway...Enough about that till I know more. I'm gonna drop two interesting links and then get outta here. Later

When Can I Get It for 5 Bucks?

Hey everyone. The poast today is going to be a rather long one. Why? Well I pity the fact that I can't get here enough to actually post. I have 30 minutes before I have to see my next client and I'm feeling the urge to let you all know what's going on with me these days. As many of you know there has been a near constant stream of shit hitting the fan over here as of late. Imagine if you will a cement truck full of shit. Now put an industrial sized wind maker at the bottom of the shit ramp at the back of the cement truck. Now place me in a chair approximately 5 feet in front of the fan. Turn fan on. Let the shit fly. That's been the last several weeks of my life ending about 3-5 days ago. I can't remember because I'm still cleaning the shit out of my nostrils. Anyway...I sure you could care less about my self-depricating metaphors. Here's what really happened. A couple days before Julia's wedding and everyone was scheduled to come in and I was expected to be my happy-go-lucky self I got a letter. Actually I got two. The first was a letter of intent to hire with Garland ISD. So good news. I had a whole 24 hours to revel in that before karma smacked me back down again. The very next day I get a letter from the Teacher Certification program that I would REQUIRE entrance into before I can actually take the job at Garland. The had flat out denied my entrance and actually sent back my transcripts. Not good news. So without getting into the cert program I'm basically staring at not getting the job with Garland, which means not getting out of this job, which means I can't eventually be a school counselor, which means I would have to either quit school or change my focus, which means my house of cards = oops...they fell down. So I'm flippin' out calling all the other programs out there and they are all telling me the same thing. I can't be accepted until I retake Intermediate German first semester (yes...6 years ago...I was 20...) SOOOO I do what I can and skip MORE work trying to find that exact class for the summer. After two days of searching I find it...but guess what? Has to be on a transcript and I have to be accepted through the master's program...which I don't have the GPA for...and back to square one. Meanwhile almost everyone I work with including myself are fired from our jobs. Oops...just about to lose future job AND just lost current job. Well...I consider the former a MUCH bigger problem and start looking into getting unemployment. Then I get a call around 7pm the same day telling me "Nevermind you're all not fired...yet...isn't that great??!" So I spend most of the next day at work angry because I had come to terms with never coming back to this godforsaken place. I also spent it getting turned down from another dozen certification programs....Ugh...time for my weekend. Well...I basically was estatic to get to see Erin and the two Mikes again. I really just can't express how much I miss them all. If felt like they had never left...it was really nice. Then I was mugged at gunpoint outside my apartment. Karma just reminding me that for everything there is a price. Enjoying the company of good friends you haven't seen in a VERY long time = Terrirfied for the safety of your girlfriend (minus) Two wallets. Well...after trying to convince kelley it wasn't her fault (I didn't succeed by the way) and talking to two cops it was finally time for sleep. The next day was the wedding. It was beautiful, I cried, I missed my friends some more. And then as if to say..."Karma: oops...we overcharged...sorry" two seperate, extremely nice ladies called kelley and myself and told us they had found our wallets and absolutely NOTHING was missing. But the Pendulum wasn't done swinging yet...Sunday nothing except for exquisite fun with friends happened. It was awsome...really and truly. I missed them so much I just simply can't express it. Did I say that already? We'll it's worth saying twice (at least!). So it CONTINUES to swing! Monday I called one of the last cert programs on my list and frankly my BEST chance. My very own university: Texas A&M - Commerce. The lady talked with me for a while and then told me to put in an application that day because the head of the program had a couple openings for the following day. I did so and the very next day right before lunch I took off for Commerce at a healthy 75 mph. It still took me and hour and 20 minutes to get there (DAMN it's far...seriously...). Talked with the guy asked him politely to help me save my job...and he did so! When I left 30 minutes later I had a letter of certification program admittance and because my GRE was so good I didn't even have to take any other tests. It was perfect. Everything was back to normal and life was good again....but I don't think I have been more scared for my future ever in my life. I never want to go through that again if I can help it. Sorry to anyone that came down to visit and I was a little preoccupied...I hope you see why now...and I really am sorry...

But back to the possitive. I have a meeting with my new job people tomorrow, my suit is fixed and is getting cleaned as we speak. More news later in the week when MORE good things happen...I hope...

And in other news...The 64 bit version of Windows XP came out today. I'm sure Moen is itching to get his hands on it...but personally since it doesn't seem to add any performance increases to games as of yet I'll be sticking with normal XP pro...that is...until I can get it from my university for 5 bucks a disk! heh.

Ok...I'm out. You guys got all 30 minutes I had to spare. Hope you enjoyed it! I know I did...I hate leaving people in the dark but time just doesn't allow for much writing these days sadly.

Little Choked Up

Hi guys...ok sorry this one has to be so quick. But I found a link between clients this afternoon and I needed to share it with you guys. It would seem that there are at least a handfull of japanese that feel the same way I do about this shit going on in the gaming world right now. Check out their response to the playstation portable. You have no choice...you must take the time to watch this...on top of being histerical it's oddly touching. Enjoy!

DABA duba DABA

Hey everyone. You ready for some good news? Are you sure? I know it's been a long time since you've had any from me so maybe you should sit down, if I were to be sued over damages caused by this news it would really bring me down...again. Ready? Ok. Monday I got my "Letter of Intent to Hire" from Garland ISD. That's right you're looking at the newest teacher for Garland ISD! Currently I haven't signed any contracts but I have accepted the job offer so that's still good. Nothing is set in stone yet and I still have quite a while before I start working there. They haven't decided what position they are going to hire me for yet but I should know soon. Here's what I do know. I will be teaching at least one class of IB (International Bachelorette) German levels 3 and 4 and there is currently a very good chance that I will be the newest and only IB Psychology teacher. They said that they would be filling any of the spaces in my schedule with english classes. That's potentially 3 preps a day which is no fun but if I'm lucky there will be some pretty significant curriculum for each of the classes already available. Anyway...that's big news and that also means that it's time for me to start scheduling my summer courses soon for grad school. Currently I know that I will not be working at this job starting with the summer II semester. That's when my pre-practicum starts and I can't work at the same time because the class is being held at 4 every day...one and a half hour drive away. Add to that class the classes for region 10 certification, and the German classes I'll be taking for a refresher and tada! I'm out of available time for a job! I might be able to sneak in a part time job close to home...we'll see. Anyway...just wanted to share that with everyone. I know it's been one hell of a run of bad luck and crap getting dumped onto the site but ya know? That's the way it works!

What...did you think I would say goodbye without a link? HA! (Oh...this one in manditory...don't miss the link seriously...)

Edit: If anyone knows someone at Nintendo tell them to hurry the HELL up getting this bad boy to America!

Film At 11

Well...I know that only kelley heard me make the prediction of robotic arms within my lifetime and I KNOW all the poeple that I told about the news report I heard 2-3 years thought I was fucking crazy. But I'm not the only one that wants to see robotic prostetics in the near future. Evidently the goverment does too. Good to know that they're doing something right these days!

Oh, and if you enjoy the REAL Star Wars and can't seem to stand seeing Lucas continue to shoot himself in the face over and over again, fear not! Gendy Tartakovsky (the mastermind behind Samurai Jack and Dexter's Lab) just released a couple weeks ago the first volume of the Clone Wars micro series. All together the entire series of micro episodes run about 90 minutes. Frankly, it's the best thing I've seen done with the franchise in a damn long time. Go get it right now. Or watch some of the episodes online and see what I mean.

Go and Go Now

Hey everyone. Extremely busy at work as usual. Well...as usual since I went back to actually working that is. Anyway...obviously there has been a bit of a change around here. Basically I felt really bad that I wasn't getting in to make my long comments on my blog. Well...that's due to the usual, but I just wasn't satisfied just letting it sit here. I'm moved the font size back to default. I like it the other way better but this is much faster and lets me type more because I don't have to go back and change the font size when I forget to set it the first time. Well...anyway I was sitting here doing WAY too much charting (they stopped paying me for the day 15 minutes ago and I still have 45 minutes to go at least) and I decided I would check my gmail which I only do every couple days. There I found that Mike Friedman started his own blog too and seems to be doing a lot better than previously and I'm glad to report that here. I'll report when I'm doing much better here so stay tuned, but until then assume I'm not.

Most recent paper turned in and all is baseline. I'm waiting for a spike in the life-excitement level and I'm really hoping that it will come with my letter of intent to hire which should be coming in the mail any day now. Soon as I get that I'll be pissin' bricks and lovin' it! Anyway...bills to pay, summer classes to sign up for, charting to do, Girlfriends to entertain...you get the idea. Enjoy!

Flames From The Side Of My Head

Everyone knows I fucking hate sony's video game division with a passion, and you know I hate Microsoft's games division only slightly less. But ya know what? Sony is the fucking devil. If this rumor proves to be true then the microgram of respect I had for Sony is now gone. What kind of fucking ASSHOLES would deliberately schedule their press conference in such a way as to keep the press from also attending a competitor's press conference....oh wait...fuckin' Sony would! God DAMNIT! Ugh...man...I just fucking hate sony...and I'm very glad their PSP isn't even coming close to projected sales. Hey Sony, maybe it's the fact that you $250 piece of hardware isn't doing SHIT without a $50 game! Oops! Plus tax that garishly close to $325 bucks for a PORTABLE game system. yeah...sorry...If I paid that much for something I was going to carry around all day with me it would have to be made completely out of fucking titanium and be goddamn scratch PROOF (and make me pancakes on the fly...WITH FRUIT!)! Long live the Nintendo DS/GBASP! God I hope...

Did I mention the Nintendo Revolution will be downward compatible with the gamecube? Just a tid bit of knowledge there. I'm praying that the "touch screen only" controller will be reconsidered...but whatever Nintendo has been in the habit of punching themselves in the face the last decade...

Anyway...

Ask Me Baby, One More Time!

Just a quicky before I get to charting. Homework done and I thought I would add this interesting article to the mix. It's about the growing drive for publishers to put out deep and immersive games and how very few are putting out quick easy and fun games without the drawn out backstory. It's pretty interesting.

Dark...So....Dark...

Hey everyone...sorry I have been so silent. I have a paper due later this evening and I have been working on it since I last talked to you guys. I still have homework to do for this afternoon so I'm about to run off and get to that. But first I wanted to mention that Windows 64 Bit has gone gold. I know it's old news but it's VERY important old news. Say goodbye to 32 bit processors everyone...and join Moen and I on the rockin 64bit band wagon. That 32 bit wagon ain't NEVER rollin again now that we have an OS of our own. Word!

Oh...and I wanted to let everyone know that if you are using firefox and you're still getting popups there's an official extention to optionally disable sites ability to do that. Enjoy the explanation included.

That's all I've got...2 more pages of homework to do before I can leave for class...I mean...before I can START charting and THEN leave for class. oi...
