To Show My Daddy That I'm Not A Fool
The guild has really taken a lot of my of time. I see now why people get so addicted to these games! They really just satisfy some grand social need at the same time providing a rewarding and enjoyable gaming experience. It helps that it's pushing my D&D button too. All in all the guild is going well. I just put up the guild website and our membership has risen to about 15 people. It's suprising that this many people are interested in a genuine and entertaining gaming experience. I just just thought it was a bunch of griefers out there. Oh well! It truly astounds me how much more fun I'm having with this game since I started the guild. It really is. After this weekend I really don't care if anyone wants to play WoW with me anymore...the friends I have made online are a lot of fun and are already there! Who says you can't make friends online?? Sheesh! Anyway...I have been spending my lunch time posting to the guild website and all that so I'm going to make this a short one. Talk to you guys later!
If you're curious the site is www.guilduniverse.com/theselflesspalm but you can't view most of the posts I have put up unless you're a guild member so don't bother unless you're just a little TOO curious. Take is easy guys and wish me luck, I'm going back to school tonight.

Liftoff!
Well...I got a rather large response from yesterday. I just want to make one thing clear though: I'm really not trying to be pitiful here. I love the life I lead. Actually...I think it's fantastic! Everyone's life has flaws but even beyond my life's flaws I enjoy every day! Is work bringing me down? Yeah...seriously. But let's be real here. Is there anyone you know (besides kelley!) who would rather go to work than have a weekend? Who gets mad when they are sick and have to take a day off? Who tell gleeful stories about work almost every day? Above all...do you know anyone who truly enjoys their job? Nope...besides Kelley I don't know a single person who loves or even likes their job. At least I don think I do. So...it's understandable that I'm down about work. Everyone probably is. This isn't a pity party. It's a weblog. Do I come here to complain about crap? Yeah...that's what the site is for, but I don't want misplaced pity. I'm happy as a clam. Just like to wax philosophic every once in a while. Don't worry about me! Do I think it's odd that I'm the last gamer left within reasonable driving distance? Yeah! Is it kind of uncomfortable when the weekends come? Hell yeah! Does it really matter? Nope! Why? Because I'm happy...and if my consumers are any indication: I'm a lot happier than most people out there. So...anyway...I'm not trying to put down the people that came out to build me up yesterday...I just don't want you guys thinking that I actually deserve pity. I know I can just pick up the phone and sometimes I do. Just lately things have shifted a little and I've turned mostly to WoW. At the same time as cooling me off I'm making new friends and connecting those new friends with other people I have met through admittance to my guild. Ack! Anyway This isn't the way I wanted this post to come out. I love that you guys are out there and I miss you dearly...but you left me with a bunch of people that just don't like games as much as we do...Mike, Erin, and Mike . It was basically a rant about our situations and how much it sucks being away from real gamers. Great! Here I go ridiculing other people! Argh! With a capital parrot! No comments for today. Just don't feel like it. New subject tomorrow. No more of this pitty crap. No more complaining about stuff happening. I'm talking about games or movies or some other superficial crap! ARGH!

Change For A Ten
Well...This is the first time in a LONG time I have managed to post twice in a row. I remember now why I started posting the news. I'm boring. Yup! It's all becoming clear to me now. I don't do anything in my life that is of any interest to the people I know. Ok...that's a bit of a stretch I realize but think about it again. Just for a second. Know anyone else that's as obsessed about games as I am? Ok...Mike Moen is pretty bad...but unless he wants to challenge me I think the simple fact that I play WoW every night at least puts me on par with him having every game system available and then some. I also know that Winter plays a good helping of games herself...but I don't see her very much and she works a lot so...yeah. But do either of them spen all their spare time during the day either on the forums or playing their Gameboy? I doubt it...Anyway...let me start again. of all the people I have regular contact with I feel as if I'm the dorkiest by far. I guess there are varying ranges of dorkiness but I guess I have to say that all the big dork gamers seem to have left. I'm not sad about it or anything...but I do think it sucks. I would kill to have someone come play WoW with me, or own a DS in the area. I don't know...I don't like playing Risk...I would rather play table-top D&D...I don't like going out to bars...I would rather hang out in an Inn online...eh...it's just something that I guess I missed out on. Interesting to reflect on by the way. I know there are thousands of people out there that their entire friend group plays games on a daily basis. Something happened along the way and it didn't happen to me. I wonder where the crossroads were...I missed the sign. Then again...when I was in college I met several people that wanted to play tabletop stuff as desperately as I did...they were very weird...we're just going to leave it at that. Weird. But I don't know...since I've been getting all this stress from work I haven't turned to my friends to cool off...I've turned to gaming. In the past my friends were already there when I got there...but not anymore. Just strange...not sad...just uncomfortable. Them - "I had a fucking horrible day at work today...let's go to a bar" Me - "I had a fucking horrible day at work today...I'll be playing games for the next hour or two if you want to join me you're more than welcome to!" I don't know...just different. Is one better than the other? I have no idea...I get the impression I'm not the best judge of "adulthood" so judge for yourself. Just interesting...consider it an observation. What do you do when you're completely stressed out? I mean: threated to be fired, dog died, car broke down, mother's smokin' crack, found out you 12 year old daughter is pregnant or incured late fines on your student loan repayment? Ya know...the rough stuff...the REAL stuff? What do you do? Drugs(including alcohol)? Games? Books? Sex? Violence? Working out? Singing? Screaming? Movies? What?!!? I'm dying to know! Heh...this should be interesting...
By the way I'm getting a really great response from my WoW Guild. You are all still welcome to join. I have a pretty decent sized group over here just waiting for more people to make friends with. Come join us!

Enough Wood For The Both Of Us
Ok I know I have really been slacking off when it comes to this blog. I'm actually really sorry about that. There have been a lot of things going on that are beyond my control. But all-in-all I could have made it here and thrown up a simple post. I'm sorry. But enough of that crap!
School starts next week. I'm a little worried and I know that I have to go and get me some books this week sometime. That will be weird. I have had all this time off of school and I just don't know how I'm going to handle going back. Especially considering that I'm going to have to fire up some Region 10 certification here soon too. Ugh. But then again I have to get another job and fill out a whole new set of forms to get my last semester paid for. There's a lot of crap going on but at least the holiday is over. That's really nice. And I have WoW to keep me sane. Now that my computer's fixed, no more crashes! It's not having any trouble de-stressing me these days. That's really nice to be able to get home and not still be stressed out. Work is still hell but it comes in waves so there's a certain ebb at the moment. That's nice to. OH! And Ed and Deb are engaged! and frankly...I think that's totally fucking awsome! You guys have had this one coming for a LOOOOOONG time. Contrats!
Saw Spanglish this weekend with Deb and Dan. It was great. I really liked it.
Other than that I can only assume you guys don't want to hear about my World of Warcraft exploits sooooo since I didn't really do anything else but that this weekend I'll let you guys go. Take it easy!

Addiction is a Killer
Yeah...quick post before I leave out this morning. I just wanted to make the comment that I have encountered a lot of addiction around me in my life lately. I have a consumer that just won't stop doing crack. That's the biggest deal. Just got out of the dumps of life and he was on his way back up. Blew 2400 dollars on crack/cocaine in the span of 3 days. Threw away his future just like that. Amazing really. Truly amazing. But now for a confession. I have an addiction at the moment as well. That addiction is World of Warcraft. I play it from the moment I get home to the couple of minutes before I go to see Kelley in the evening. It's averaging about 2 and a half hours a day. That's really outta control! I wish it wasn't such a good game! And more importantly...I wish I was playing it with someone I knew! Anyway...just wanted to confess that and let you all know that I'm addicted. That's why I haven't been posting and that's why you haven't been getting the emails and phone calls you should have been getting. That's also why I STILL haven't sent Mike and Erin's presents for christmas. I'm such a bastard...so...on to more interesting and upbeat things!
Heh...I know most of you got this on an email earlier today but I'll give it here too. I'm starting a Guild on World of Warcraft. It's going to be Alliance faction(the "good" guys) with a Horde counterpart to follow. It's on the Khagdar server/realm. The Guild is going to be called "The Selfless Palm" and our goal is going to be to help out other players as much as we can. It's going to be fun! You all should come and play and join up! If you're interested just get in touch with me somehow. Cerif27 is the AIM/Yahoo!IM name and Cerif is the character name. This game works on Mac and PC and is one hell of a lot of fun. Basically I justify the price in this way. It's 12 bucks a month at the 6 month range. If World of Warcraft didn't exist I would be purchasing about 2-3 games a month. Each of those games would cost me from 15 to 45 bucks a piece. Considering how entranced I am with the game at this time I anticipate that I'm going to be saving money by playing this game exclusively. Anyway...in the long run it's a good deal for anyone who want's to join. Hope to see you online.
Ugh! Listen to me! I'm done talking about WoW and trying to get people to come online with me. Well...I'm not done talking about it but I'm definately done advertising for it! That's not what this blog is for. Sorry guys...

The Moral Of The Story
Hey...I'm still at work and I'm still not fired. I'm very glad that life has gone back to normal. It's ok to be bitter when you have to work and all your friends are off and partying every night right? Well...is or not I'm saying it's ok becuase I was a little bitter about this holiday. But that's beside the point. I have a hankerin' for a slurpee right now, and I have to go to central office. Still getting crap at work and still trying my hardest to keep my job. Still loving my Nintendo DS and still trying to get pictures of my Game Cabinet for you guys. So what is this then? A boring and uninformative post. Sorry. Oh...and guess what? I have only seen two of the movies I wanted to see this break. Awsome. And one of them totally sucked. Never see House of Flying Daggers...it's horrible. If you get the notion to go and see it anyway just stop...watch Iron Monkey again and know you are watching a much better movie. 'Nuff said. And on that note! I got Progressive scan cables for my Gamecube...let me tell ya...worth every penny...
The best current case for the Nintendo DS is the smaller gamestop case. It's nice looking but only has three slots for games. Considering there are only about three good games out for the DS at the moment it's the perfect case!
I appreciate the response of support from my last post. I really try not to rant about stuff but I have just been having a hard time lately. Thanks for listening and being supportive instead of being dicks about it. It could have gone either way and I've very grateful to have such good friends. Thanks all.
New Years update - wow...New Years sure sucked...but honestly it really wasn't that bad for me. Kelley had a really bad time and we left and she cried most of the way home because she had a bad time. It's more complicated than that (to her) but that's what happened. Came home and went to bed. What a way to start the new year. She's lucky I wrote my post and then played 4 hours of World of Warcraft before we left or I wouldn't have been in a good mood and then incapable of taking care of her. But anyway...oh! and I had my life threatened by Jason Simmons' brother but DAN went out of his way to stick up for me! I couldn't believe it! Get this: Nate - "Touch me again and I'll throw you straight fucking through that fucking plate glass window!" Me - "um....OoooooooKay" Dan - "No you're not. At least not without getting your fucking ass kicked!" Nate - "by who?" Dan - "By everyone at this fucking Table...(dan, kelley, mike, and jordan)" Nate - [I'm a mouse!] It was truly awsome. Truly...but I threw in a couple good f bombs just to make the retelling more exciting! Hope you don't mind. Anyway...back to work.
